NYE in Kauai – The Big Swell – Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzman, George Porter, Steve Kimock, Wally Ingram, Jeff Chimenti, Robyn Sylvester

CID Entertainment is pleased to announce it has teamed up with the newly formed supergroup, The Big Swell, to present, “Rising Up To Paradise: New Year’s Eve on Kauai”. Proceeds from “Rising Up to Paradise” will benefit The Hanalei Initiative and Earthjustice, two non-profits committed to bettering the local community and ensuring the welfare of our planet.

On a remote Oceanic island more than 2,520 miles from the mainland and light years away from your worries and cares, on a ranch with palm trees and ocean views, in a land where wild roosters rule the streets and sleeping giants watch over the land, and on the last night of the year, an all-star group of musicians, led by the Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, will put a final exclamation mark on 2018 and deep dive head-first into the coming year, while celebrating a magical “here” and a transcendent “now.” And you’re invited to tag along.

“Rising Up to Paradise” will be hosted December 31, 2018 at Crazy Rooster Ranch located on Kauai’s North Shore, and has been curated to feel more like an informal backyard bash than a big ticket New Year’s celebration, where the atmosphere of a secret soiree will be paired with the welcoming spirit of aloha. The evening’s headliners are The Big Swell, a newly formed local band featuring Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), George Porter Jr. (The Meters), Jeff Chimenti (Dead & Company, Fare Thee Well), Steve Kimock (The Other Ones, Rhythm Devils, Zero), Robin Sylvester (Ratdog) and Wally Ingram (Timbuk 3). The Dirty Knobs with Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Taj Mahal, and local band Island Grass are also scheduled to perform, and DJ Logic will host a late-night set.

Untold treasures and a brand new year await. General Admission tickets and two tiers of Enhanced Experience packages will be available to purchase via CID Entertainment beginning Wednesday, October 31st at 1 PM ET. VIP tickets include concert admission plus lounge access and merchandise gifts, while Super VIP guests will be invited to a private sunset acoustic performance by Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, & Steve Kimock.

The Big Swell
Big swells typically occur on Kauai’s North Shore in wintertime, originating from Aleutian storms and ultimately creating huge — and, at times, unpredictable — surf conditions along the coast. Such a Big Swell is also predicted to roll into Kauai on December 31 from a storm originating in San Francisco, when members of the Grateful Dead, Dead & Company, The Other Ones, Ratdog, The Meters, and Timbuk 3 come together for the very first time in this particular combination, causing unknown conditions and potentially historic outcomes for beat-surfers Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir, George Porter Jr., Jeff Chimenti, Robin Sylvester, Steve Kimock and Wally Ingram. Surf’s up!

The Dirty Knobs with Mike Campbell
The Dirty Knobs are a rock ‘n roll band based in Los Angeles, CA and fronted by Mike Campbell on guitar and vocals. Mike is a founding member of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Mudcrutch and is a current member of Fleetwood Mac. Taj Mahal
